If you are using whit hat techniques and you are getting good position so its a static position.

Keep building natural backiling and you should be back on page one.

The Google dance occurs of average every 4 – 6 weeks, but I have never seen rankings fluctuate by such a high number, especially if you’re supposed to be ranked number 1 for a specific keyword/phrase.


Just an idea, but when you were ranked number 1, are you sure you wasn’t signed into Google with personalization mode on? Google does this by default, and will show the most visited site for that keyword/phrase.

It always happen... our sites are in good position for a long time but suddenly drop and now we are on the process of working it out... it will be back but not sure when.

Maybe you've missed something. Organic SEO is very useful. Do it daily. Upgrade your blogs weekly. Continue on what you do. The rank will be back on it's rank.

You should always persist in optimizing your site.

Sometimes some keywords can lose their positions but 283 positions it’s a huge drop I should say)))) thanks in advance!

Because rankings fluctate ALL the time.

Google have many datacentres/server clusters that are unsynchronised and as your query can get sent to the nearest "least busy" cluster you are not necessarily going to get the same answer each time.

it may be due to competition of the keyword.

Check the cache date .. is it recent? Such a big backward push may also be some kind of a penalty ... link exchange with bad sites? You might need to evaluate all the efforts to find the reason for this.

You might have done few mistakes in on page SEO like applying canonical tags large part of your site.
Or you might have lost a bunch of back links quickly. Link velocity could be an important factor.

You can continue work in Link Building so you get definitely better result with your websites.

You may fall into GOOGLE SAND BOX. To every new site, google will put it in the sand box for a few month. Don't worry, keep building your site. Your site will come out.

Think of your competitors, maybe, they have done something that you don't know to kill your site.

the difference is very high. I have seen many people complaining about their rank down but the difference was very low . IN your case there must be something wrong from your side.

it generally happens when google introduce some updates, or some of links of highest importance among all gets broken,for example all links are there but highest pr links get broken for some reason.

You should not stop backlinking when you have attained no#1 spot because maintaining the ranking is more difficult than attaining it
