A projected display, called Live Query, shows updated samples of what people around the world are typing into Google's search engine in the 86 languages that Google recognizes eg. English, Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Japanese, Korean, French, Dutch, Italian etc.
.
Google 150 million queries a day from over 100 countries -- updating in milliseconds by Google's Logs Team.

Hmm....... Zeitgeist's been around for quite a while.... I'd certainly like to see live data though.

Incidentally, while I was looking for the Live Query system I found a couple of new things on Labs:

The Viewer is very neat! I may use it quite a bit...

The WebQuotes one also looks pretty useful for us Webmasters:

That viewer for Google results is excellent.

Not so sure what WebQuotes are though or what they mean. Most sites for my search term came up with 0 WebQuotes.

Viewer is sweet though.
Will be using that to monitor site(s) performance from now on.

Thanks guys.

From what I've seen of it, WebQuotes basically looks for links to a site in Google's index. It then takes what the owner of the site has written about the link, and stores it as a web quote.

I suppose the idea behind it is that it gives a good opinion and description of the site's content. So if I linked on my site to Webmaster Talk saying "lively and informative webmaster community", that would serve as quite a useful piece of information for users searching for it.

I can see it might be up for a bit of abuse, though, if people can change your listing by writing things about your site on their own. I wonder how they'll deal with that........
