Keep getting this every now and then, I run a seach on Google click on a site but get taken some shady site. Like today I typed in Webmaster tools clicked on Google listing yet got taken to some other spammy site, I thought I must of clicked and add but I hadn't.

Done some digging around and it seems I may have a virus, any of you guys experienced this? My spyware isn't reporting anythings wrong just that strangley it allowed a severe virus through a couple of days ago and it wont let me remove it. I'm using Microsoft security essentials at the minute

If you thought you have a virus better give it a check to a computer technician before anything goes wrong.

@Chris Not sure what you mean, are you saying its my site redirecting? The problem I am having is random search results are going to other pages. The only change I made to my htaccess file was index.html to root, a piece od code I got from a link of yours. But Im sure this was happening before then.

Ran my site through the malware checker given in your link its clean, it seems I have the Google re-direct virus though on my machine, whenever it feels like it, I get taken to a crappy page on any given link in the seach results - totally random. Been trying to get rid of it for 2 days now. Any help guys!

So is this just random sites or your site specifically?

you probably want to check your host file. There could be a virus that alter and redirect your browser to certain IPs.

check this path and delete the other IPs except that of local host

"C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"


Not sure if it'll fix the issue but it's worth the look

or try downloading Hitman Pro on CNET

I think you have gone to masked URL, or either fake page. Try running proper updated AV. Try to access through other PC.

that's weird!I think you clicked on some site that has a warning, saying "this site can harm your computer" your anti virus or your browser should warn you about it... if this thing hurts your computer you better start backing up your files and reformat it...
