Google is having many methods and they have some secret analysis for this and also when they crawl a website and they know the back links of the website and also the duplicate content also.

If you have not done spamming, back link must contains quality contents, i think google gives more back links to forum posting..

A lot of people commenting on blogs are spamming. However, google does count then and you just need to ensure that you comment naturally and on dofollow blogs
