No it is NOT. It isn't even a MINOR factor!

Google stated that the so-called speed factor affects less than ONE percent of results, hardly a "important" factor.

But if you want to speed up your pages the best things to do are.

Take off the adsense scripts.
Take of Google Analytics.
Remove all the advertising banners etc,
Remove the jQuery library bloat,
Get rid of any flash elements, embedded videos, and "social media" plugins.
That will massively improve the page rendering speed.
