A week ago, it was announced that the Google +1 button has been improved to be faster.

I have to agree, pages that I visited with it loaded slower than usual in the past. Thoughts?

I haven't really noticed since they released the new button, but that's more because I haven't paid attention than anything to do with the button itself. Based on what they did it should load faster. I've added the new button to my own site so I'll try to pay more attention.

frequent innovation is what have kept them on top for years now

I wonder why do you want to rely that to google+1. Couldn't that be the issue related to your ISP or something like that?

Because it was the last thing loading on the page from viewing pages that people implemented the button into. If I'm correct, it took an extra 2-5 seconds delay ( even when revisiting a page ) and now, it's instantly appearing.

Cant say I have noticed a delay before on both my own sites and others!??

My only question is, where is the -1 button?? What if I don't like something, can't I please vote it down?

Have to say the Google guys pushed out that update quite quick so seem to be on the ball when it comes to Google Plus and well improvements .

By the way, does anyone here have increase in rankings after getting +1 clicks on your sites? I just found out about Google +1 and was wondering if any experienced with it could shed some light

You might want to take a look at Google +1 and search engines.

Make sure you test your sites with multiple browsers with Google +1. I added this to my site and a week later accessed it with IE only to find out it was generating a javascript error. I removed it from my site and everything started working fine.

Ah, google fanboys.... I really wish programmers could read between the lines.

"We improved the speed" != "innovation"

"We improved the speed" == "We f-ed our thing up the first time around, and it was so bad, we had to go back to the drawing board because people were complaining / stopped using it, and now we're issuing a press release about it so those people can see we fixed our junk and may try it again!!!"

The loading speed might be increased by the google just to make more people use the +1 button. The webmasters won't use the +1 button if it purposely retards the loading...

Google +1 button seems to load fast enough on my site.

I was also thinking the same when i had read about this first, sadly we still don't have -1.
