Hi Guys

I'm after some advice, we have a site that we started building pages for to bulk the site out a little, but in time these pages seem to have taken over what the site is meant to be about.

Basically losing rank for keywords we want and gaining rank for keywords we don't.

We have decided we are going to build a new site to house these information rich pages. My problem is how to do this without triggering a duplicate penalty.

If I delete the pages on one site then make them live on another would it be dangerous? Or because they are not live on 2 sites would it be ok?

All pages are cached in Google

there is no such thing as a duplicate penalty.

And it was stupid "advice" that you got to to "bulk out the site" in the first place.

"Information rich pages" what a load of garbage, if they are of no use to your site just remove them!

Hi Jim

I know my response is late and may possibly be of use to someone else...

I had a similar issue with one of my websites and decided to use one of the other TLDs I own to hold content not specific to website design but more related to domain marketing. It appears to have worked becaus ethe primary website has maintained its number 1 organic rank and the other one I used supports it holding number 3 or 4 position.

For me, the cost of buying another TLD and parking content there about a related product or service is a no brainer because having dissimilar content on a website is like having 2 signs in a window promoting 2 different services, people are going to ask "So, what do these guys actually specialise in?"...
