Identical linking text penalties.

I am pretty sure that Google is penalizing my website for overoptimized keywords. I do show text link ads on the site as well. I don't think it is likely because the site is only PR4 with 5 main pages. I have read that you have to have alot of pages and be actively trying to manipulate the SERPs to be penalized for linking to other sites.

The site is http://www.typhoonexchange.com I have optimized for the key phrase pop under exchange I have recently noticed that no matter how many links I get that say "pop under exchange" Google still keep my site between 120-280 in the rankings for that keyword.

I have about 1100 inbound links to the sites. 120 of them show on the Google link:

I want to know if I change up some of my keyword links with the penalty be removed.

Also since I will likely more inbound links with other keyword texts will Google remove the penalty if I have.

Say I have 1000 links that say "exit exchange" and 1000 links for 20-30 other keywords as well will Google just notice that my site is popular not sandbox me anymore? Or is this more complicated?

Also when I say links I'm talking about links in general I use post to blogs and forums and I have directory listings and sponsored advertisements.

Most of my sites pick up 10-20 backlinks per week and they aren't getting sandboxed.

Are their some general rules for not getting penalized for identical link texts?

webspace,
The big problem I see with your site not being optimized for "pop under exchange" is the external static text link menu on the left. Google loves anchor text in links (even related external links). I see "Exchange" one time at the bottom, and the rest are completely unrelated to your keyword phrase.

Here is your anchor text:
Mortgage Rates
California Driver Education
Online Marriage Counseling
Pest Control in Sacramento
Italian Design Clothing and Shoes
Local Home Appraisers
Appliance Repair
Home Additions
Online Casino In Hebrew
Soccer Goal, Soccer Gear, Soccer Ball
Reading Tarot Cards
Holiday car rental
Design Shop
Bail Bonds, Arizona Bail Agent, Washington Bail Bondsman
Moving Boxes and Moving Supplies
Payday loan
Information Portal
2005 Norton Antivirus
Airline tickets
Online Casinos
Partners of Typhoon Exchange
----------
I would suggest either removing those links or creating internal "related" pages that you can link to using your keyword phrases in the anchor text. Infact, both options I believe would be best.

I wasn't clear on this in previous post. I was reffering to the links that comes in from other sites. 70% of about 1100 links say pop under exchange. What I was asking is: Will I be penalized for having to many sites linking to mine using the same anchor text?

The sidebar links are paid advertisements.

The partners page will be the main page of the link directory for my website.

Should change the placement of the outbound advertisements? Would it help my rank if moved them to the bottum of the page?

The main body of the text should give a better idea of what the site is about.

I have checked the site http://www.typhoonexchange.com, first this site is not optimized for keywords "pop under exchange". You have used only link exchange. In order to get higher google page rank, you should optimize your site for perticular keywords. You should have the desired keywords repeated in content. And you should have more pages in your website, so that the links to your pages will be increased.

What browsers are you guys using? If the page isn't redenering right, this is a serious issue.

This is what the main text body of the site says. You should note that pop under and popunder are repeated several times as well as exchange. I've hilighted them for easier analysis.

Quote:
We are a pop under exchange program that sends effective traffic results. When a surfer visits your website, a new Full Size Webpage is opened behind your website. Likewise your webpage will be opened when another member of the exchange gets a visit. You will get 3 visitors for every 4 popunder on your website. That's 4:3 ratio, the highest ratio in available anywhere for free!

Our Advantage

The highest ratio, 4:3 ratio!
One popunder per visitor technology
Full Size Window opens behind your website
One of the Internet's most effective free and affordable paid traffic provider programs
100 free credits to get you started

Our pop under exchange can improve your traffics and sales every single day. Our program is more effective than any banner exchange and any other popup exchange program because we have the highest ratio in popunder exchange pop-up rate in the popunder exchange industry...

Our popunder exchange provides 100% FREE targeted traffic at at 4:3 ratio rate. The highest availble! With real-time stats and single visitor technolgy our program delivers results...

Our premium program your website will be shown to our selected members and will target your clients by selecting proper categories. With this effective advertising features, our price is very affordable at $2.90 per 1000 visitors plus bonuses.
If it doesn't render in your browser then that is a pretty serious issue.

Nobody has really addressed the original question I posted yet.

If you can read the content on the site, do you think I should change up the wording or ad more sales/SEO copy to the page?

Hmmm, I don;t think you're getting penalized, I think you may not be optimized enough. That is, if I know what the heck I'm talking about, and when it comes to SE's I'm still VERY green. Yes, you do have anchor text within the page, but the first thing that the SE will pick up is your nav (which is in flash) then your side bar links (which are for the most part irrelevent)

I'd have to agree that moving the side bar links to the bottom will help. Maybe also try converting your main nav system to css or plain html links so that they get spidered from your main page???

That's a good idea. I might try the CSS nav. Do you know of a good CSS tutorial?

I placed the outbound links at the bottum of the page and placed some text link navigation in the sidebar. I am far from done. I have to change up some files. for the website.

I wouldn't say extensive...there is a learning curve as with any other language. Thing about CSS is you can have an entire site's styling in one file. Anything from positioning to fonts and colors etc.

Here is just one example of some great tutorials http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp

Really?

The sites ranks #1 and #2 on all of these searches.

Yahoo search for pop under exchange MSN search for pop under exchange HotBot search for pop under exchange Alltheweb search for pop under exchange AltaVista search for pop under exchange

The site is well optimized for these search engines, just not well optimized for Google. I didn't really know about the outbound links. So if I link out to a bunch PR10 sites does that mean my site will look more search relevant too? This thing with outbound links and relevancy is not much consideration on other search engines.

I just noticed I'm not top ten on gigablast either.
