I've noticed some strange stuff in my logs this month with freshbot. Although he's started visiting my site again. I head that they were testing new code so this may have been why.

Anyway, he seems to be visiting regular for now

Can't wait until the next dance! are you guys expecting big things?

Darren.

Yes, Freshbot was not very active at the beginning of the month, but it seems to be roaming again. In fact, many of my newer sites got listed finally (took several days longer than usual).

For members who are not sure what FreshBot is...

Google usually does a FULL index once a month around the 25th to 30th). During this full index, your PageRank will be assigned and your new site cache will appear. It takes a few days for the final index to settle.

However, Google is almost constantly updating which is why you will sometimes see rankings shift throughout the month (or maybe a new site appear that you had not seen before). These listings are the result of the freshbot. These new sites will be listed but will not be assigned a PR yet. In order to get a new site of yours listed quickly you must have it linked from a site with a minimum of a PR6 (some say as low as five). I do know that a site with a PR7 gets spidered almost daily so that it quickest way to get in.

This is just a quick summary.
Make since?

Google was all over this site yesterday.

I do expect big things Darren. Chopper from www.tech-forums.net (one of our admins here) just added a WT archive so Google can pick up ALL of our treads and I am curious how that will do.

The sessions problem that vBulletin has that stops google crawling it effectively will hopefully be sorted out in the next update. Then webmaster-talk.com and other sites that use vBulletin can get the whole site crawled.
