Hi Everyone,

I have 2 questions

Question 1
I made a real dumb a$$ mistake and don't know how to correct it, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I created a site, in FP as individual pages (not a web) stupidly I named the files .html instead of htm. (Me Dumb A$$)

Now I have reworked the site and included all page in a web allowing FP to name it HTM

Here is the problem, this is going to screw up all my links because everything and everyone including backlinks and all are pointed at www.mysite.html as opposed to htm.

I am so afraid to make changes that are going to affect my SERPS
I have recently, climbed to amazing positions (JMHO) on all the SE's and don't want to loose them.
I am using this site as an example of my SEO skills to my customers, and would be very embarrassed if it fell through the floor.

I am so thrilled with my SERPs, I don't want to risk screwing them up.

Should I do a redirect on each .html page to the corresponding .htm page?

Second part to question

The domain is named after my main product, but most people come to my site for other goods.
I would like to split the site so that parts of the original site productname.ca continues on, but most of the site is moved to a new domain.
It appears that now would be a good time to do this, seeing as I already need to make changes and redirects.

Should I, instead of doing redirects to the .htm version of my site as mention in the first part, just go ahead and do a redirect of those pages to a new domain?

How much is this all going to damage my serps, if I do it correctly?

Thanks much
Scott

Happened to my site too. What I did was take my first page which is currently on page 5 in google for the keyword horror movies, put a redirect script into it, and now it redirects to my new domain. So I got to keep all my work and didnt lose any serps.
