Hello, I am new to forums so please bare with me....... However i need some help or advice on google's listings.

After 1 year of slowly building our traffic, exchanging links, paying for links and small advertising campaigns we have managed to get our alexa ranking up to 80,451 and get a decent amount of traffic.

http://www.tonez2fonez.net/

Suddenly 3 weeks ago all our traffic disappeared, when we looked into this further if we search 'tonez2fonez' on google usually our HOMEPAGE would appear as the number 1 result. Now we have to search using the omitted results to find our homepage which is currently on page 13. This is why all of our listings have disappeared, however we do not know how to fix the problem or what caused this problem, If anyone out there has experienced this before or would know what caused this or can fix the problem we would be willing to pay a fee for the help as long as the problem is rectified.

thanking you all in advance for any help offered!!!

Adam

Hi Monkey,

thanks for the link!! we have read the article in depth and we are still no nearer to the reason why, I can honestly say that we have done neither of reasons offered in the article (to our knowledge). Our Homepage has not been completeley removed from googles index we are in the omitted results section, at the end of the search you are offered to search again using the omitted results. Also if you type in www.tonez2fonez.net in google and search it finds our homepage.

If we were removed from googles index would we received an email to confirm this? because we have not received any emails as yet. Also I have read that if you buy a link with a higher PR it will increase your chances to be re-listed quicker by google.... is this true or a myth?

Again, also i,ve read that the problem may be back-linking to your homepage if your site is not set up so every page is pointing to your homepage you will loose your listings, again is this gospel or an old wives tale? (The reason i mention this is because the 'home' link on our site pointed to a different page somehow! One of the technical guys had entered the wrong link on every page)

I really appreciate your help!!

Adam

never heard that it had to link back to the homepage. i've had plenty of pages that didn't link to my homepage, and never been penalized. my guess is you are being dropped from their index however. i went to http://www.wm-community.com/tools/go...ce/dancing.php and did a google dance on your site, and it looks like most data centers don't have you listed (anymore).

i dont think google emails the people who they drop however. that would be entirely to time consuming/impossible. you can also check here http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/pa...date-list.html for other google updates. looks like they did a toolbar update just recently, and could proably see backlinks updated today.

Knightmare......... although I have just checked that google dance tool and we have now indexed pages in 8 different data centers (there were only 4 before when you checked), does this mean it's being re-indexed?

Or is there no way back for this URL???

Thanks

Adam

well when you see movment in the datacenters chances are they are reindexing. that fact that more datacenters are showing is a good thing (i only see six datacenters listing you as being index tho). perhaps you are just going to have to ride this out, and see what happens. if you haven't/hadn't done anything to get yourself blacklisted i wouldn't worry so much and assume google is just readjusting itself at the moment. i dont know what other advise to offer you since i haven't had this ever happen to me. for whats it worth my index pages are jumping around today also.

Have you heard of sand boxing by google ?

The Google Sandbox theory, or Sandbox effect as it has become known in the SEO world, is a dampening filter that is applied to new websites. It usually lasts for between two and six months from the site's launch date. It's not unusual for a new website to enter the SERPs (search engine results pages), for a couple of weeks and then drop out of the search engine rankings completely, so if it happens to your new website - don't panic!

could this be an explanation?

your site has been around for a year. it would be out of the sand box.
