Hello everyone. Our site is over 2 years old now and we have a google PR4. We haven't noticed much traffic and our site is not even in the top 100 results of google when we search for "web hosting" or "web hosting provider". Also, our Alexia ranking is horrible too. I'm not sure what is going on here but if anyone could please help out it would be greatly appreciated. If anyone could go and review our site and check out the meta tags and let us know if you notice anything it would be greatly appreciated. We would be willing to give free hosting if someone could help us optimize our site and help us list higher on google under the search term "web hosting" or "web hosting provider". Thanks in advance for any help with this!

First of all PR doesn't mean much if your site isn't optimized for your keyword phrase. And "web hosting" & "web hosting provider" are going to be nearly impossible to rank high in the SERP's for any site less then 4 years old without TONS of linkbacks.

Also, Alexa Web Rank is worthless (Google powers alexa, and the results are identical).

I would fine some other keywords to target as well, that are similar, but have less results in the SE's.

your site is almost without text!
You've got a lot of animations (flash?) that are nice to see but are not good for the spiders.
Try to add normal text where you can put it (with inside your keywords )and use the alt tags for the images. If you try to use a spider simulator program it see your site like empty! If you don't want to change to much your layout try to make at least an entry page in html (not a doorpage...just an intro page )
bye!

Do you have any suggestions for other keywords?

If you are trying to get some traffic from search engiens, even though pagerank dosent mean that much you would want 5+ pagerank to even compete with some of your competition.

Backlinks are key. I have a website in the Top 10 in Google for the keyword "t-shirts". We have over 450 manually edited link partners, and hundreds of other links to us from people I don't even know about. There are over 20 million results in Google for the search "t-shirts". Our success is solely related to having a great links directory, closely themed around clothing, apparel, and t-shirts.

You will need to spend the time, money, effort to create a stellar links directory that is full of useful sites (not crappy link farms or directories) that will help your visitors. Concentrate your efforts on getting quality content, quality links (links you would actually visit!), and lots of incoming links. You will do really well in the search engines if you buckle down and apply yourself to the task of link management.

I promise!

Hi,

You need to drop the flash. Looks great but it will do nothing for you but hold you back.

Better to have a not so nice looking site with visitors than an all singing and dancing one with none!

So ditch the flash. Set the cats out in text form. Link to own pages of more detailed content (thats link to OWN pages not external). More own original content the better. Build quality pages of text content relevent to your subject.

One thing i do know is that flash is not liked by spiders. I had a very small flash design on one of my own pages that i loved. It just looked superb. I had to make the call to remove it which i didnt like. Having done it within a short period of time my page rank was improving and the page getting good visitor numbers.

Hope my two pennys worth helps
