I have been working hard on my site for over a month an was wondering when I will be getting some PR. How long does it usually take for Google to index your pages?

The next Google PR update will probably be in the next 3 days

The amount of time it takes Google to index your pages depends on how often their bot crawls your site - the more often you add new content, the quicker they will come back and search for it - having an rss feed should mean that googlebot visits your site quite regularly.

As for PR update, they are usually every three months or so and the last was at the beginning of January, so the answer would be...... any day now, probably.

The next few days I am a little worried, what if Google doesn't like me. I don't think I can take the rejection at this stage. On the other hand Google may love my site and reward me with lots of targeted traffic .

Now that would be telling
The fact that Google has spidered my site relentlessly over the last week, using over 120Mb of bandwidth, is usually a safe bet

There is no telling what Google's next move will be. The accurate predictions have ceased about 6 months back and nobody seems to know anymore. The only thing I could say is get backlinks, build content, and don't worry about the Bot. Eventually it will give you respect and you will get the ranks you need.

As long as you are indexed and the spider visits frequently, ranks will follow.

That's good advice from keywordguru - good content and backlinks are key. Don't forget of course that PR is not as relevant as it used to be anyway - traffic is what you want and those two suggestions will help you get it.

I agree. If quarterly updates are continued by G (the last being around Jan. 1), then the next should be soon. And as odd as this sounds, one of my pages has been changing PR in the data centers for the last couple of weeks (from PR 5 to 3) , but no other pages, including the new ones with no PR. I've posted this confusion in another thread so I will end this here. Good luck to all, but remember, page content is much more important when it comes to the SERP's, and more importantly, your website visitors.

Well I managed to predict google somewhat. My site is now on page numero uno in google for the keyword Upcoming horror movies. As for predicting google, well AOL gets it's search results from google, so my site was above 3 sites on page one of aol. Now its on page 1 of google right above the same 3 sites. It just took google longer to place it there, but AOL was sort of giving me a sneak peek at my upcoming google placement. Anyways, I'm just one happy fking camper today! To make things even better, my site jumped from page 5 to page 4 for the keyword horror movies.
