Ok so you'll all probably roll your eyes at this and such, but you'll have the satisfaction of being able to let out a superior snicker at my predicament.

Ya know in google or in any search engine when you click on the little space where you type what you want to search for, it comes up with a list of what you've typed in there before? I'd kinda like to know how to stop it doing that. It didn't use to happen on our old computer but now we have one with XP and I can't figure out how to turn it off. I like to keep my google searches private thank you.

If you can help that'd be super. No name-calling please.

Cheers.

It's just a your computer that's saving the searches for your future reference. Deleting your temporary internet files should clear the list.

either that or dont search for things that you shouldnt!

making sure your history setting are not saving the last 30days etc will also help you, otherwise other users may call up the previous sites you have visited

It has nothing to do with google only your browser. Yes simply delete all your cookies and they should be gone.

Even if you double click in the search box and it brings up the search history, you can highlight words you have searched and just press the delete button to get rid of it.

Just disable Auto-Complete and they will be gone forever.

This has nothing to do with the temporary internet files or cookies.
You will need to either completly disable the autocomplete feature or just untick the form box under autocomplete.
If you use the google toolbar then you will have to also disable a setting in there.
