This site of mine has been around since January 2004, over the year and a bit it's climbed up and been highly ranked - infact over this recent december/january we had almost 100 000 referrals from Google.

February/begin March things started cooling down to the norm again and in the last week of March, thanks to our unreliable hosts of that time, the site was down for about 7 days and now Google has dropped from being by far the most referring search engine to roughly 40 times less referrals than Yahoo and on a par with Search.com.

Anyone care to shed some light on what's going on here? Am I in the sandbox? The site is in DMOZ and therefore the Google DIR and has loads of related links to it.

at the end of march was the update i think..if your site was down,wouldnt google skipped over your site because it wasnt live?just a thought..im a noobie

There are to many factors that go into this and one may be because your website was down. But I have seen a drop in traffic from all search engines, and my position did not change. I can begin to guess what is happening...
