Other than the directories links resources provided by Padawan, there there any other sites that I can get list of new directories, or websites that will promote more backlinks?

a search for "web directory", "directory", "meta search engine" throw back a lot of results. Ive always meant to go through them and put them into a database but never found the time.

I read from WeBuildPages.com that they don't recommend posting to all the directories. They only recommend 70+ directories what will bring traffic and pagerank.

Yeah, they all need money to pay.

Do you guys agree with the guys at WeBuildPages.com?

No about PageRank Yes about traffic.

BUT for each market place different directories drive qualified traffic. I have some sites that never see a referer from some directories others may get a a few hits a month from the same one.

And just because they are paid doesn't make them better. There are two well known paid directories and both appear to be severely penalised by Google.

One of them is bluefind - went from PR8 to PR0 in the last update. I think the other one is url.biz which dropped to PR0 too.

It's a punishment handed out to any site allegedly breaking google's terms and conditions, though I have not heard anything concrete about what exactly these sites did wrong.

Well, that's the rumour that I heard regarding the downfall of those two directories but I don't know how true it is.

As I heard they engaged themselves in link buying. They bought links from many directories to boost there PR.

Thanks for the information.

My website TrafficForLess.com has gone from PR6 to PR0. Right now, I need to put my link on a PR5 and above website so that I can get my website out of Google's sandbox.

Can anyone recommend me a website where I can place my link? I looked through all the directories and they are mostly PR3 and below.

If it is a directory, the category that I want to place is "Internet Marketing"

Thanks for any help.

As noted in a previous thread, right now no amount of links is going to help you. Your site is banned or at the very least heavily penalised for the link farm most likely and until you get it cleaned up nothing will make the slightest bit of difference.
