I have a newer website, about 3 1/2 months that ranks #1 in 2 major search key words in my field at Yahoo... and others that rank less than 10... so I'm happy there!

However, like many of you experience too, I can't get close to #1 at Google, unless I'm the high bidder on the PPC. LOL!

I have made 4 changes to my website in the last 45 days... all about optimising my site both internally using most techniques that are common here, other forums and links, etc. I was hoping Google would find my site more "worthy" of having it at least in the top 10 because of pure relevancy. I feel my site is highly relevant considering the search key words.

The other SE's have indexed my site and directs the searcher to particular pages of my website that corresponds best to the search key word used. Google only gives out my main page, which isn't much relevant as it could be if Google would index my other pages. So far, Googlebots came back to my site about 5 days ago or so and I have seen some dramatic changes to my ranking... mostly for the worst! All but one search key word has dropped my in the rankings.

My question is how long have you nice people realized it takes Google to make adjustments once they been to your site? AND...

Why does it seem Google is not indexing my other pages?

Any help, advice or opinions would be appreciated.

the site is too new to be ranking for any terms in Google. The aging delay takes around 4 - 9 months for sites to even appear in the SERPs. Then there is the so-called "sandbox" where the site will rank for non-competitive phrases.

Patience is the only remedy. While you keep building the backlinks and improving the content.

Thanks Chris,

I'll continue to be patient and work on what you suggested. I've been having a very good success rate approaching webmasters or owners of "relevent" or related sites and asking them to link to my site as it would benefit "their" readers and made 3 upgrades to my site for content based on what I've learned through the forums and advice like yours.

Thanks again!
