Hi All

A bit of help needed what is the difference between the link:www.yourwebsite.com command and just typing in your website. The reason I am asking is because when you type just my webaddress into google i have got about 500 or so listings but when you use the link command i only have 6 listings. Which is another thing when I used the link command yesterday i had 52 listings where have they all gone?

Hope someone can help

Regards
Pete

the link: command at Google shows backlinks pointing to your site. only it never showed all links and now shows even less (or random links) than it ever did making it even more useless. and it will show different numbers on different days depending on which datacentre you connect to.
using just the site name as a query will show all references to your site. These may be links or not.

It is all to easy to type in links:mysite.com which means you just get a google search on mysite.com, whereas link:mysite.com (ie; no s after link) gives you the 'counted' google links. I am not saying this is what you did, but I have done it many times.... (to the point now where I just can't remember whether it's links or link)

Hope this helps
