Yah, it's just a matter of time from what I've read. Some people say that three months is the magic number, but I don't think it always works that way.

Patience is the only way to get out of the sandbox. It can take anywhere from 6-8 months to find your self on the swings again.

Rehash - is that true even if your site is just a month old, or under that? I've never heard that could you get out of the sandbox unrelated to your site's age.

From my experience, it is always time. It took me almost exactly one year from the registration date of the domain to come out of the sandbox. Note: the sandbox seems to apply only to highly competitive terms.

3 months?
6 to 8 months?
one year?

hehehehehehe

I still say and this is just my opinion, if you have enough backlinks from
high PR sites with your keywords in the anchored text, you'll be in the next
Google update.

very funny suggestions.
To the best of my experience, a site that has worked on getting quality backlinks will come out of the sandbox on the 2nd backlink update on google.
All the sandbox does is filter you out of the top results, if your site is optimized to be there. If your site is not well optimized, you make come out of the sandbox and not notice.
I also beleive that the more compeitive the term the harder to crack the sandbox for that term.
I am also seeing 'sandbox' effect on new links, 30-90 days based on quality of the link..
