I'm new to this forum, and by looking through the list of recent posts in this "Google" section I see that most of them are regarding SE optimization, so I hope it's OK to talk about a little known (or little used) Google feature called "Google Free." It allows a webmaster to install a search bar that delivers results pages rendered in a scheme of customized colors -- you can even use a background image instead of a background color. I created the initial color scheme because I spend a lot of time on Google and the glaring white background became annoying. I created a "charcoal" theme, and later made other "dark themes" to see if anyone else would like them or use them.

... to see screen shots of the nine schemes with links to the search boxes delivering results in each scheme, with instructions and links on how to setup customized search boxes like these.
