Is it possible that too much content will cause me a lower SERP position compared to my competitors?

I ran some comparisons to a site that is #2 and I'm #10 for my keyword phrase.

He has 485 total words and I have 889 total words. His keyword density is 11.11% and mine is 5.41%

His Title is 6 words and the keyword is 33.33%
My Title is 14 words and the keyword is 14.29%

His Desc is 9 words and the keyword is 22.22%
my Desc is 61 words and the keyword is 6.56%

(I just thought my description should actually say something about us, not just keyword jibberish)

His keyword is not in any of the following
Alt tag
linktext
bold text
comments

mine is in
Alt tag (1 time)
linktext (1 time)

Thanks for any advice

What is the keyword phrase you are targeting?

It could have to do with external / off-page factors.

However, I think your title is to long. By using so many different keywords, you are diluting the weight for the main keywords your are try to target IMO.

Its hard to give a good opinion without seeing your site and the keyword phrase you are talking about...
