there is alot of search engines out there 1000's

yes some better than others in my eyes submitting to as many as you can would not do you any harm all you have to remember is that its not how many search engines you are in its were you are in the search engines the closer to page one number one the better and mostly all search engines (not all) work different to the other so i would say submit away

IMO, these three search engines are major for high traffic puller. You should have to concentrate to increse search engine ranking for these by implementing good SEO guidelines. IMO, Getting listed does not mean that you will necessarily rank well for particular keywords. It means that the search engine knows that your pages are exist. However, you can submit to most of the popular search engines. You should visit this site http://searchenginewatch.com/links/article.php/2156221. I think it will helpful to you.

All the major search engine spiders will eventually find you without you having to submit your site to them, as long as your site has some links on the web pointing to it. Google, MSN, and Yahoo are the only ones that you really can expect to see any traffic from anyway. Your time might be better spent submitting to directories. They won't send you any traffic either, but all the extra backlinks may help with your PR.

Hello.

In order for your website to do well, you can't really ignore the major search engines.
Building backlinks through link exchanges or directories is one way that the spiders will find you. As PortPhophecy stated, they probably won't be a major source of traffic, but will help get you indexed.

10,000 small search engines don't pack the punch that G does..

I hope this helps!
