Indeed. On the other hand, MSN seemed pretty reasonable in handing over "non personally identifiable data", yet still helping massively against child p0rn. If you ask me, I wouldn't be concerned for anybody's privacy if Google did the same thing, on condition that the data wasn't personally identifiable.

To be honest, I think it's just a Google PR (not PageRank, public relations!!) attempt to try and dispel their reputation of being an internet big brother.
