Hello all, I'm new to this forum.
I'm seeing the strangest results from Google in the past week, and today, we just dropped out entirely, and when I do a search on our URL: http://www.villas.com I get the "there is no information for this URL" page from Google.
Yet, if I click on the link, "find pages from the site www.villas.com" up pop 160 indexed pages. Problem is, the pages are terribly disorganised and some are from a site we had a year ago, and not at all current.
Stranger still, if I do a keyword search on "villas" and "villas.com" we pop up high in the results. Moreover, our Google XML sitemap is still being downloaded every 12 hours or so, our PageRank is holding at 4/10, our Alexa rank is dropping at about 50,000 positions a week currently at 272,900, and all the other Search Engines have fully indexed us and we are shooting up the rankings there too.
10 days ago we had our index page down for about 12 hours and granted we only got the server folders when we did a Google search, and it has cost us our high rate of indexing. But, I can't imagine that this is still a residual effect of that event; as, there were no ill effects at all on any of the other SE's.
Has anybody else experienced a very wacky week of Google indexing and dropout?
All the best,
Steve
