freesolutions: from what I can read, it looks like you're posting the latter URL onto various forum boards, thus generating inbound links for that page specifically. It may be that you're doing that in more and/or more visible locations than you are your own page.

I just want a solution as to why one of my page praising google has a high page rank and many of the people here say there is nothing to do with praising google and page rank.

And Dear webmasters google has changed the algorithms as to how it calculates backward links. You can check this with your website itself. Google counts only those links placed in relevent pages. rest of the links are not taken care off. I read this in another SEO article. May be the link can provide you with some information

didn't bother reading much further, because already the author has shown that he has no clue about PageRank.

the link: command has NEVER shown all the links that count or even all the links that Google have indexed.

You want to help webmasters? I'd suggest before you start doing that you learn how unimportant the toolbar PR display is.

i think because your site has been around for 18 months and had build enough back links.

Well I made a free website with free host. And almost within a month I got PR 4. I was shocked . Coz I didnt even have a so called link directory at my site. I maximum linked to 5 sites and received back link from them. What do you think Google is doing something funny????

sites don't need a link directory, in many cases they can cause more problems than help.

Don't worry about it, it means nothing. Simply "ghost PR" from the parent host

Some people call it Googles sandbox. They have a delay that especially affects new sites of around three months before the site will get PR. It doesn't seem to affect sites that are newsworthy, like the recent 'million dollar homepage' that went from 0 to a PR of 7 overnight.

Think of it in these terms. The web is a party and Google is the doorman. If it knows your face you get in. If it doesn't know your face hang out for a while, behave, then get in.
