It is because Google views them as two seperate URL's and everyone linking to me (well almost) is using the "www."

Heh. Yeah. I went up from a "0" to a "1"! Heheheh. But then again, up until just now (for 2+ years), I haven't even submitted to search engines.

Doesn't really matter, though...it's just my personal site.

So...another question. Will my "1" rank hurt sites with higher ranks? I've read so many conflicting stories about google pagerank.

No Prissed, your PR 1 won't hurt anyone you are linking to.

It just won't "help" much (except for traffic sent).

all that i have noticed is that sites with a lower PR dont show up in your backlinks on google.

Congrats Chief...it's been a long time comming but it's well deserved.

Have you noticed much change in the stats since the PR7? I'd be intrigued to know what difference it had made to the search engine positions considering PR is meant to be a multiplication factor rather than an addition...so rumor has it.

We've now made PR6, which I'm hoping will improve traffic further and give us scope to optimise for a few more big keywords without damaging the current ones.

Yes, Ahmed I am VERY impressed with you. I thought getting a PR7 would be hard enough, but you make getting an 8 seem easy!

I am sure your link helped us, but I do have a few 8s already linking in and several 7s also.
