Hiya,

i'm trying to create a sitemap. The site is hosted on my own home webserver.

I downloaded sitemap builder .net and it has now been running for 10 hours and still showing 250000 urls to go with 58000 added only. This will take forever and should somehing untoward happen (like pc crashing) i'll lose the lot.

Is there an easier and better/quicker method.

This post is in conjunvtion with one to come re: getting my site recognised in google.

cheers,

dave

Are you planning to map every single page your web site contains? I recommend manually mapping most important sections of your web site.

Mapping every single page will confuse, not help your visitors.

the map is for google more than anything else and as such members won't be viewing it.

The reason is i want to give every chance i can to get my site up in google search engine. At the moment although it's submitted it is showing nothing and as i have included a google search on my home page to search the site i need google to get crawling.

I agree with Mark K - make a map of your important pages - Google will soon find these links and begin to crawl all sub links of these pages.
