Hi

www.puzzle-me.com has a number of inbound oneway paid links from game sites. These links have been established between 1 and 2 months and the sites are all indexed by Google. Any idea how long Google takes to include within its index?

Any Suggestions?

BTW I have an SEO specialist helping me and he said not to use the Google AddURL as it will rank better if my site is found by crawling links from other sites...

I would be interested in comments on that approach also.

Best regards
Dataman

It looks like both Yahoo and MSN have indexed the site though Google seems not to know about it yet. It might just be a little more time that will fix the problem. I didn't see anything obvious that you would be doing wrong.

I agree about not submitting the site to Google. From what I've heard Google will start out a site in one of two places based on whether it's submitted or found by them. Apparently starting life at Google by them finding you ultimately works out a little better later on with your ranking for searches.

Have you tried building up more backlinks? Google usually indexes you fast if they see quality sites linking to it.

I would think the link in your forum signature here would be enough for Google to find and index your site. cpvr is right though that more links will help them spider your site faster. Spidering isn't the same as indexing and it's possible Google has spidered the site, but hasn't yet included it in the index.

Do you have a stats package that shows if googlebot has been there?

Maybe the URL got banned by Google previously?

It seems odd that it would take that long.

Doesn't seem odd in the slightest

Just another long standing myth. The only difference I have ever seen is that the Googlebot does not visit a site without links and submitting the site makes no difference.

Is your "specialist" an "expert" or a "guru" ??
