Hi All

www.holidaysauction.com has been up and running now for 5-6 months. It is not getting indexed by google. Yahoo and MSN have indexed it fine but no joy with google. Any suggestions on if there could be something wrong with the site that is stopping google finding it?

Hi. I would try getting some quality one-way backlinks. Maybe you could submit an article, and submit your site to some free directories. This is probably the best way to get your website crawled by googlebot, and indexed.

by the way how long does google crawl? once a month?

I had the same problem as you! Seemed like it was never going to happen. In the end i read a tip somewhere and it worked.

Pay google a fiver to go into adsense and even run some ad's if you wish. After that they couldn't get to my web site quick enough!!

Though i am still having problems in getting them to cache all my pages.

Try this it will work, though its not a free way of doing it. Also try and google site map.

Thanks for the help. The site has now been indexed only the first couple of pages but then the rest of the should follow eventually. How have the rest of you been getting links to your sites? Do you email webmasters? so you use any software? I have been submitting the site to directories but I feel I really need more higher quality links. Any suggestions?

Site will not get index unless you find some quality back links. Try to search some quality back links.

Do you use sitemaps? It helps a lot for faster indexing. I use Google sitemap and Yahoo sitemap on my sites and indexing within days becomes easy (even the tricky Google is about 5 days to get indexed).

Plus, I also submit RSS feeds to MyMSN and MyYahoo. Search engines gulp all new content like crazy.

As has been suggested, no-one really knows how Google works. Just keep adding content, use a sitemap, and - if you think you're ready- get some links. But only get quality ones -sites that will mutually raise profile.

You must put your site to some free directories at least, then write on forums, but the link directory is a must..that way you'll be crawled... my site was crawled about 3weeks.. for msn it took 2days the question is, do you have traffic on your site? do you use any traffic analizer scripts to see your audience..? if u have traffic, don't worry about googlebots...

I agree with the sitemaps idea. It generally let the G knows your site is there and waiting for it to be crawled. Getting some quality backlinks works real good too.
