Google does allow putting in "Images" via HTML code into the TITLES and META TAGs and BODY Text

They will show up as Cute/Eye-catching Images on Google SERPS

http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...q=google+serps

look for :
http://google-yahoo.com
and the HTML/image placed in the TITLE

Here is the code to use, but use at your own RISK.

I have experimented with it on a couple sites and am seeing if the CTR is higher than normal. However, I think when Google catches on to this, they will no longer allow it.

Star:
& # 9 7 8 8 ;

Arrow
& # 9 6 5 8 ;

Black Smilie:
& # 9 7 8 7 ;

White smilie:
& # 9 7 8 6 ;

(delete the spaces)

For an example of an arrow and star:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...er+advertising

The star is shown in the first listing. Arrow is a couple spots down.

Does the image show in titles in other search engine like MSN and Altavista?

They are supported in MSN, Yahoo and Google by default. AOL and Alta Vista do not.

It's actually not that they don't support them specifically, it's that they set the charset to be ISO-8859-1 instead of UTF-8...
