I was just checking out my keywords as I do often and the keywords I was number one and two in, I cannot even find my site anywhere!!

What happened? Why are sites that are usually nowhere to be seen and mine has disappeared??

Thanks for any help. This is a BAD time to be screwed over for a retail site right before the Christmas rush.

Hey Wynter,
See those other posts but it appears a major change was made to the algorithm. We just have to figure out what it is!

I'm still going to wait a few more days though before drawing any conclusions.

We've had the same problem. Some keywords that we ranked amazingly well for (#1-#3 in the world), have bombed out down to the back of beyond, whereas other keywords ranked for on the same page, remain.

Can anyone shed any light on this? There has been a huge change, it's cost us money, but we don't know what the problem is!!

Sorry to hear that so many pages have lost serp, however, think about it for a minute. Because a page had a good position for months or years does not mean that it deserves good position. Like the other million or billion pages, it must meet the current criteria of Google's algorythm.

Ask yourself, why should my page be #1? (or whatever).

What does your page have that the other two or three hundred thousand pages don't have?

Trust me, anyone reading this forum or any of the other hundred webmaster forums, has all the basic page specific attributes in place. We all have the Title thing, the H1 thing, the keywords placed strategically, the blah and the blah.

So...tell me, why should your page be number 1? (or whatever).

I'm asking this to everyone and asking only rhetorically, because now, all you seasoned veterans sound just like newcomers, hehe.

over & out,
Bompa
