Hello, I find it strange that my site is in the very top rankings in Yahoo, but in Google, I am no where to be found. I do not have a Yahoo text link, nor have I bought any text links. Anybody with a reason on why this is?
Why would you find it strange? They are different search engine with different algorythms. What ever you have done to your site means it's optimised for yahoo better than it is optimised for google..
I guess I am a real newbie... but I thought Yahoo was a human edited directory that defaulted to Google for those that had not paid. Am I wrong on this point?
Yep very different. Yahoo does have a directory and at one time they did use Google search results for their own search engine. Not any more though. Yahoo now uses it's own search technology and no longer uses Google results.
Both search engines now use their own algorithm to determine what they consider the most relevant web pages to a given search query so different algorithms leads to different results.

Is Yahoo still Human Edited. If so, does it still opporate the same as far as putting sites that pay the fee on top leaving the crawled sites at a lower wieght?
The directory itself is still human edited, and though there are some who suspect that if you're in the directory it helps with organic search results, the directory and search are two separate things. Being in the directory or not shouldn't have any affect on where your pages rank other than the directory links being good ones to have.
