hi all,
i have submited my site to google before 3 days,
but its still not in the google index
i cant find any results when i search site:sameer.net.in
can anyone tell me how much time it takes to get indexed in the google results?
It really does depend on a few things, and if all you have done is submit your site via the Google form (at Add your URL to Google) then a week or more is not unusual.
Depending on what you are doing with the site though, there are much faster ways to get indexed. Google sitemaps for instance... or my favourite, Blogging.
3 days is just too short time for a site to get indexed in Google. It does take some weeks or even months for a new site to get indexed. Just concentrate on getting links from already indexed sites and sites which are spidered frequently and have patience.
Just become a frequent and good posted (not spammer) on Webmaster World and update your sig as new sites come up.
Google loves big forums and indexes a lot of these pages and re-indexes them every 2 months or so and will see your link (I do it when I'm too lazy to build up links :P)
About the XML SiteMap theory at SitePoint, I read it and it looks like that problem occured AFTER their pages were already indexed by Google, right? It wouldn't apply to him because he wasn't indexed at all (maybe)...

It will depend. However Google has a habit of sticking all new websites in thier "sandbox" Its a period of time that a website is not able to receive any PR rating for, as there are many methods available to obtain a high PR rating quickly. Its Google's way of fraud checking basically.
It helps if you can get some backlinks from high PR sites. A link from a PR5 or higher site that gets crawled regularly can do wonders for your new site.
some of my sites i could find after 3 days and some after some months. the links are nearly the same but some reasons make it difficult to get indexed. i don't know the reason why other sites need 3 or even more months. sure is, if you have a inbound link from a pr4 or pr5 site will come the spider within the next day. this is how fast you get indexed but even then it's not sure that you keep that.
one of my sites drop out 3 times and now it's in again, also doN't know why.
