Hi Everyone,

Do you know if it's better to submit all of the pages in your site to google's add url, or if you should just submit the homepage and hope it indexes the rest?....

Submit only the homepage.

Quote:
Only the top-level page from a host is necessary; you do not need to submit each individual page. Our crawler, Googlebot, will be able to find the rest. Google updates its index on a regular basis, so updated or outdated link submissions are not necessary. Dead links will 'fade out' of our index on our next crawl when we update our entire index.

Some dynamic pages will actually need submitting, actually.

I used to run a YaBB SE forum - the threads were terrible for indexing, and as it wasn't built on session IDs like other major forums - phpbb, vB, and IPB - there was no easy fix.

One, though, was to create a sitemap listing every thread URL. But I only did that after submitting every single URL manually. Luckily, there was only a couple of hundred threads on the board.

It was properly indexed after that. I use vBulletins now, anyway.

DO NOT submit all your pages. Submit the homepage and wait to see if it gets indexed. If the search engine finds many pages from the same site submitted, it could trip the "auto submission" filters and get your site blocked.

Instead, try and build the content on your site, and get other sites to link to you.

If sites that are already in the search engines link to you, search engine spiders will follow through those links, and you will get into the search engines too.

Hope this helps
