I'm under the impression that the last PR update was for newer sites. Did anyone see any changes for sites that have been around for years? There was no PR change on any of my pages including new pages during the last update. I'm just curious.

I see no updates on any pages that already had toolbar PR.

I had a couple of 1-page 'holding' sites (with virtually no content - just a company name, phone no and an 'email me') that for some reason were bizarrely awarded PR4 in the previous update. In this update, they have (rightly so though I hate to admit it) been 'corrected' to PR1.

I also had some sites where the index page was (& had been for some time) PR3,PR2 or PR1. The other pages had all gone (again, probably wrongly) from PR0->PR4 in the previous release. They now seem to have been reset (probably correctly) to 1 less than the index page.

I think that the previous update made some big mistakes with previously-unranked pages and that this update has also put this mistakes right (bit of a shame, but ethically the right thing to do)

Other than these changes, I saw no changes in any other PR

So it sounds more like a PR correction then an update?

Well yeh Ringtone : Free Nokia Ringtones | Free Polyphonic Ringtones | Real Tones | Free Ringtones | Nokia Ringtone a respected PR5 since 3years with links on 1000's of sites PR7, PR6, PR5 the works. Had a wierd incursion the domain name page rank dropped to PR0 and got removed from google index. But Ringtone : Free Nokia Ringtones | Free Polyphonic Ringtones | Real Tones | Free Ringtones | Nokia Ringtone is still PR3 and inner pages are all in google index with page rank!! also the backlinks are showing in google 800+ i have google sitemaps for the site there are no errors there and its still showing top results in the sitemaps statistics tool but ive lost the homepage completley from google.

I think it was a PR Correction AND a PR Update. I remember with one odd Google Update (most SEO's don't even consider it an update), users got PR5 for pages that weren't assigned a PR5.

This was obviously a glitch and most of the inner pages were the ones which got the PR5 since the homepages had a PR assigned to it already.

The latest Google Update fixed this problem and assigned it the normal PR as well as assigned other indexed sites the correct PR.

If you didn't recieve any, it just means Google gave a PR0 at the moment most likely, I think..

Not that it really matters what toolbar PR shows for any site, but I don't think it's all working right at the moment. I have a client who has exactly 2 links point to his entire domain. One is from a PR3 page and the other is from a PR5 page on my site. His PR is showing as 4 for all 3 pages of his site, which is what the majority of my own pages show as well.

Now I certainly don't have more links than anyone online, but I have quite a few more than 2 and certainly more than 1 from PR5 sites pointing to my home page. It doesn't seem reasonable to me that he and I would show the same toolbar PR. It could be explained by assuming his is really 3.5+ and I'm at 4.5-, but still it seems a little off.

Again though we're just talking toolbar PR so it's not really all that important to begin with, but something about the last update still seems a little off to me.

Yeah toolbar PR isn't that important as what the Google's private PR shows and how they rank you for it...

But if you're selling links or adverts based on PR, toolbar PR would be important
