I think it would be a good idea for Google Analytics to add the ability for us to add dates of importance to our statics and have a location of reference.
I run the website for the governing body of a sailboat class that will have major regattas a few times a year. I don't remember when all this happens so I would like to add the date to analytics and then see how traffic changes around these dates.
I believe this could also be useful in better understanding any offline event. What time a day do you air a radio commercial? Or did you just put up your first Bill Board?
Last week an image wrapped van (with a picture of a sailboat and our website) hit the streets, did that change website traffic patterns? What if I could say that van is going to be in Chicago on 9/1/06. I wouldn't need Google to create a custom cross reference thing-a-ma-gig but rather remind me that I should see is traffic is up in Chicago.
Any other ideas from anyone? Or has anyone accomplished something like this using their own tools?
Thanks
-Mike
