Hi, im a bit confused about why google indexed my index page, with all kinds of lovely links pointing to the other pages on my site, but only choose to index the index page? Is it just a matter of time or am i much better off to create one of those google site maps?

It takes time for google to spider and index all the pages. You should start seeing more being included over time.

try a google search with site: then your site url

eg site:Britain's foremost suppliers of Mosquito Nets, Safari and Travel Accessories - SafariQuip - it'll show you which pages google has indexed so far

EDIT - this is post 666

It depends on a lot of factors.

Maybe Google just start indexing your site, and the began by the index page.

Or maybe you don't have enough PR and then Google is just getting a few pages from your site.

If you want a deeper crawl you need to use some SEO tricks
