I think it's if they find words in a row that correspond with the letters you search, Regardless what those letters are as long as the search phrase is also present on the page..
I just typed in a random 3 letter string, it happpened to be hyg, and it highlighted Home, Yard and Garden. Bgb highlights Building Green Bridges.
