Hi Specialists,
I'm considering moving web hosts and found a good VPS deal with a German based provider. Currently my site is hosted in the UK and therefore, the site's IP address is a UK range address. If I would move my site to the German hoster, my site would get a German range IP address. How heavy does Google rely on the IP location of a website? I must say that even though my site has a .com extension, most of my current traffic comes from google.co.uk and the only reason I can think of causing this is because it is running on a UK IP address.
Any thoughts on this anyone? How risky would it be for me to move to a German IP address? Is there another way (maybe META tags or so) to tell the spider that my target audience is actually US/UK and not Germany specifically?
Many thanks,
Mike.
