People do a lot of things because of misinformation.
they think it helps with serps, When really all it would take is a simple google search for any phrase to see that toolbar PR has no effect on where a site appears in the serps.
If PR was important when it comes to serps how often would a PR0 appear above a PR5, Not often.. But in reality it happens all the time.

It's only based on backlinks and the PR of those backlinks. You could have a blank page with PR10 if enough links point to it.
