Hiya everyone, i am new here on this forum, and i have noticed how helpful you all are.
I was browsing through the google forum here last night, and tried to add my Forum to Site Map Creator, but it tells me this:

SiteMap:My 'Question' is, how do i put a 'TITLE' in wherever i need to put it...for the 'SiteMap' to be able to notice it please?
Sorry, i am just learning bout this...so am not sure...?
I have a 'Proboards Forum' and i have it that ppl have to 'Register' before they can enter... would i be better making it so ppl don't have to 'register' so that the sitemap thingy can read all my site? Or does it really only need to be able to get to the index page?
Sorry for rambling on here...

If you want to use google's sitemap then your going to have to make an XML file, it isn't a page on your site. Go to sitemap.org - it is a new standard that MSN, Yahoo, and Google have agreed to.

As far as registration goes, you have a couple of options, if you want google to send you visitors based on the content inside your site then you will have to open it up to them. You can allow the forum to be read when th googlebot visits but this requires some more advanced knowledge on your part. And google isn't always pleased when they get different results then a visitor they send you.

Another option is to allow the first paragraph or so to be viewed without registration, this way everyone knows what you have to offer.

But like it when people leave their forums open, this way if a visitor needs a quick answer they can find it, but if they want to participate they can register.

Just my two sense

The other possible angle is to fix the title on that particular page.

<title>No Title</title>

Check the code of that page and make sure that's not in there. If it is, then...well, change the text and you're all set.
