IF you've ever needed proof that google sometimes DOES use meta tag descriptions to describe a SERP check out my entry in the precharge projectnet seo contest. View source and check the META description and you'll see that it matches this SERP:



And this isn't a fluke it's been like this since yesterday and even now search "precharge projectnet" and look at the third entry and you'll see it for yourself.

Google have always occasionaly used meta description in SERPS, I don't think anyone has said any different.
It's the keywords meta tag it ignores.

We never say it does not display metas but but does not give value to it in SERP's ranking.

Google will show the content of meta description tag in SERPs if there is one, and if not, it will try to find first or top texts from the content and show in SERPs. Where did you get the knowledge that google doesn't use meta description tag?

From a lot of people who do indeed have meta tags yet google doesn't show them.

meta description still important maybe not on serps but it helps your visitors to find out whats on that content...
