Here it is

These are the things u have to know

1. Know how to analyze a site for key factors - links, anchor text, content, etc.
2. Know how to tweak a site to effectively present itself as a good candidate for ranking on a specific term.
3. Know the basics of link building - neighbourhoods, anchor text, etc
4. Know the basics of organizing links and content to be helpful to both people and search engines.
5. Know how to make the content in non-spiderable media like images, sounds, flash, AJAX and so forth available, or to be able to compensate for it.
6. Know how to tweak content and structure (headers, etc) to best present a site to a search engine and a visitor.
7. Be aware of all the major search engines, their demographics and idiosyncrasies. Also be aware of what they have to offer outside of search, and what the connections between the two are.

All the best

Searching in google for web design company, there are 262,000,00 results. It's a tough job to rank in first page of google.

Are you a web design company? I don't think there is any need to spend money to rank in first page of google, because for web design service, it's a local area business. If you are based in USA, few companies in UK will ask for that services from you. You shall focus on your city, state or country.

As you have already taken steps on getting good ranking in Google searchs I think you can now concentrate on MSN also. Many people have noticed a good increase of visitors from MSN.

Just get lots of good quality backward links for the keywords you want to rank well for.

google places most emphasis on the "age" factor (the older your links, pages etc are the better) when compared to yahoo/msn

What a load of drivel.

Been a while since I read as much garbage gathered together and presented as fact.

So spammers wouldn't register their "crash & burn" domain names then?

SSL?? what ??? why on earth would having a SSL cert make a blind bit of difference??

the "article" is just pure BS NOTHING in that article would make on iota of difference to "trust" as applied to Search Engines.

IMO follow the Google's guidlines regarding this and some good SEO will give you the desired results.
By the way is your website new or is it already indexed in Google?

Because there's no possible way to acquire an SSL without an intensive background investigation and check and Dun and Bradstreet report and... oh wait, www.instantssl.com takes about 2 minutes and no checks whatsoever. Hmm. Sorta screws up the SSL theory.

And if an SSL made any bit of difference whatsoever...where's the SSL for that site?

https://www.seoforgoogle.com . Doesn't seem to work, does it?

Registering a domain name for 10 years now makes a difference? So a spammer can throw $90 at a domain instead of $9 and it'll somehow bump them up in SERPs? Give me a **** break. No search engine is that stupid.

This is what army-types refer to as "blivet". Hirst is right, as usual.

By the way, what's with the signature, David? How many different links do you NEED?

It would have to be a coincidence. I wouldn't chalk it up to anything more than that.
