I am puzzled with this issue.

For a while I have been trying to get my site listed on google with the keyword "ergonomic keyboard".
However, when I used this search criteria, a link with the name "defective yeti" comes up and site has absolutely nothing to do with keyboard or ergonomics.
The link is http://www.defectiveyeti.com/archives/000690.html.

My question is : How in the world did this web page get listed while not having anything to do with keyboard or ergonomics?

Please help clarify this puzzle.

The page is 404 at the moment, but if you use AllTheWeb to check back links, the words ergonomics and keyboard appear often in backlinks text.

unbeleivable. I did not realize that the backlink matters when it comes to the ratings.

Does that mean that if I wanted my site to be ranked high, I need to make sure that there are many pages from other sites linking to me?

Yes. This is one of the MOST important parts for ranking well in Google especially in competitve areas. Get incoming links with your keywords in the anchor text.
