New site indexed but all pages supplemental?

Just started a new site and all seems OK except nearly all the pages google has indexed are supplamental. Is this just because it's a new site or is there a problem?
All descriptions are different but I am using the title of the page in the meta description tag - could this cause google to put me in the supplemental results?
I myself think it's just because the site is new and without any deep links, but thought I'd just check...

New site, no link history etc etc
The meta desc and title isn't the problem

What's the site?
You're not going to get a lot of good advice without it.

A link to the site in question would definitely help. Hard to really give specific answers without being able to investigate a little.

* takes a look at the bamboo-wear site and is reminded of the phrase "geodesic condome" *
sandbox, are you that dude who did that site? I'd forgotten about that until I did some digging.
You've got a minor navigation issue. Point your home page to http://www.bamboo-wear.co.uk , not /default.asp . It'll confuse the SEs...they ain't bright enough to figgerate that one yet.
You might want to try fixing up the querystrings for your articles. Big G generally doesn't like the long 'uns. One, maybe 2 parameters...that's it.
Next thing is that you may want to put your article categories into your navbar so it takes no more than two clicks to get to any one article. You've got them in your home page, true, but they're the kind of things people would want to poke around for.
The other thing that might hurt you is the affiliate hyperlinks. While you haven't gone so far as to stuff them in at every opportunity, many of your products contain hyperlinks of that nature and big G doesn't tend to play nicely with affiliate sites much.
There. That oughta get you started.

Thanks for that Adam, I'll start on it right away...Oh it's going to be a long night...
And yes I'm the "geodesic condome" dude, I owe you a drink as well as I rank #1 in google for the phrase "geodesic condome" just like you said!
You are indeed a gentleman and a scholar. Cheers

sandbox I think you may also want to 301 redirect the non www version of the domain to the www version for the same reasons as not linking to /default.asp

Hi Sandbox, recent discussions and testing have shown that the reasons for pages in newly indexed sites to be seen going supplemental are numerous, but 2 stand out by far. The first does not affect you in the least and is due to a websites domain expiring, even for a single day, and google seeing it as expired before it is renewed. The second which is directly up your alley, is that after the big daddy infrastructure change, links and where they are inbound to in your website now play a part in both frequency of crawls as well as being a factor in pages going supplemental en masse.
Moral of this: Build your link profile, and make sure 50% of that profile is deep links and you will see those pages recovering.

How about the content? Check and recheck it, then if it is a duplicate content, reword then build quality backlinks. The reason why a site goes in a supplemental index is that its either you have duplicate content or you have no backlink.
