Will redirects hurt my ranking?

I have a couple decent rankings in google for a few good keywords and pull in a nice amount of traffic from them. Problem being that I'm redesigning my website and using a different CMS for it, so I'll have to redirect all pages to the new ones.

I'm really worried that this will hurt my ranking.

Add to that the fact that I already have a bunch of redirects on the current site from when I redesigned it a while ago. (but before I ranked for anything so I can't tell what effect it had before)

Basically, I'm going to be knee deep in redirects,

from the original, to the current, and finally to the new site. Yes, I've got three different urls for each page because I'm redirecting everything all over the place.

I'm in redirect hell.

If you are using 301 redirection it will come in to effect in about 3 months. I mean redirection takes place immediately, but the inlinks pointing to old pages are consider inlinks of new page eventually and it takes about 3 months. So it it will affect ranking of new pages upto that time period. Hope i clear my self. But sorry for my bad english.

301 permanent redirect is the only way to go. It may take a little time, but you won't be penalized and soon the new pages will gain the ranks from old ones.

you can get into trouble for using other types of redirects. this could get you banned from their index. but if you use a 301 redirect you will be fine. only and only use a 301.

Nope

Could cause the effect of "hijacking" given certain other conditions were to occurs as well.

This problem has been rectified for some time now and the hijacking is unlikely to occur any more.

It was never very likely to appear anyway when the problem still existed with Google. Just as usual a vocal minority shout it from the rooftops and give everyone the impression that it was a major issue that would affect every page on the internet.
Which it wasn't.

That pretty much describes links for sale, too.
