Hi guys, I'm still working on my first site. www.politicalrundown.com It's a site dealing mostly with United States politics. As of right now I have like 3,000 backlinks on Yahoo, 77 for google, and a couple hundred for MSN ect. My problem seems to be SEO, I'm sort of a noob at it but want to get better. I don't rank in the top 10 pages for any of my keywords for google, yahoo, msn, or any other search engine.

Let's say I want to get better with keywords "politics, government, congress and voting records" Pretty soon I will have 400 pages of members of congress's biographies and voting records. If I put something into each one of the pages that says something along the lines of "memberOfCongressHere is actively involved in politics and the united states government by being a member of congress" If I put something like that on 400 of my pages just changing the names of the congress members will that boost my ranking for some of those keywords? I have heard that content is king for SEO. Sorry if this seems unclear, im having a hard time getting my point across.

Many thanks for help,
Preston

what your saying is not good quality content

its keyword repitition

just keep building quality content
and gathering backlinks and the rankings will come

google rankings don't happen overnight

sometimes you got to sit on your hands a bit

u need more incoming links with proper tag. this would help in specific keyword ranking. you want "politic", then have more incoming links with "politic" link, politic site, and outgoing link to politic site as well.

Optimize your page content, and try to insert the keywords naturally into the page, title tag, meta description, keyword tag, etc. And then buy some links from quality sites, etc.

Hi,

Back links are what you need, but back links with good keywords is better, for example if you look at your signature, you have put your keywords next to your link, when you should have used the keywords as you link text.
