Hi;

I have web site which is opened nearly 7 monhs ago . that web site was pr 4 before last pr update and it's pr 5 now.

Until today , google was sending nearly 5k visitors per day . G has stopped sending visitors suddenly . I have checked my index counts . there is no change on my index counts but i have dropped from my keywords .

Is the name of this sandbox effect or a punishment

Any suggest ?

Thanks

Probably a glitch, give it 3 to 4 weeks to settle out then start looking.

Chris you seem very confident that this is not a punishment made . Personally after looking at the site I belive that Google is just not ranking the site highly.

However it is definatly possible that google is punishing the site

So why keep rattling on about a penalty????

trichnosis;
Judging by the very many post you have in the link exchange forum, I would suggest that the majority of the backlinks to the site are pretty much worthless and the recent updates have just caught up with the site.

Furthering the link exchange theory is that 70% of the pages on your site are in the supplemental index and not the regular index. Those supplemental pages probably won't draw a lot of search traffic.

If you read Matt Cutt's post Indexing Timeline you can see the connection between exchanging links with unrelated sites and the supplemental index.

The sandbox real or imagined refers to a sites inability to get it's pages ranked when first launching a new domain. The fact that you were ranking and now aren't is the opposite of what the sandbox talks about.

My guess is Chris is exactly right. Too many link exchanges with sites for no genuine reason. Yep they helped you get your quick pagerank and now they're causing your pages to go supplemental.

Thanks for your comments chrishirst ;

I have more than one web sites and posts on link exchange forum are not related with this web sites .

Backlink sources for this web site are forums , some directories and one dmoz link . That's all . I did not make any link exchange with this web site.

So, not a useful link in sight then.
