I got a question id like to have an answer for - Im interested to submit my website to one of those things that adds it to 200 or 500 search engines and such - to make my site more findable

Now is that a good thing, ive read that such thing might flag ur site as a spam in the eys of the google? is that just a myth, if yes then is it ok to do it?

That's probably a myth; spammers know better than to submit to search engines. It gives you no measurable benefit, and spammers like the "bottom line" metric.

Search engines measure the importance of a site by the number and quality of the links pointing at it. Their spiders tirelessly crawl the web, cataloging what they find. When they discover a link to a new URL, this goes into a queue, and gets crawled. Which is what you hope to achieve by submitting. And also one part of what it takes to climb the rankings. So you'll wind up collecting links anyway; why make an unnecessary first step?

The ONLY thing you'll get from "submitting to 200 or 500 search engines and such" is a mountain full of spam from the selling/reselling/threesellling/X-selling of your email address to anyone that will send you Viagamblesbian (I LIKE that word!) spam.

Anyway, if you want to get indexed by search engines, just wait a few days and post some more into these forums. The signature link alone will get you into the search engines you need to be in (although to rank higher, you will want to include some anchor text a la Forrest's and my signatures).

The beauty of your site is that, if you plug it and work on it and plug it and work on it and make it truly unique, most of your major SEO issues will take care of themselves.

don't use HTML code in your signature

Use BBCode (forum markup) http://www.webmaster-talk.com/misc.php?do=bbcode

Guess you're trying to do this? Find your people Find your party? The nifty thing here is it'll help you come up when people don't search for "www.club57.co.uk" And the only people who would do that already known about your site, so this is much better.
