To be more specific.. I use a combination of JSON and a lot of document.getElementByID('XYZ').innerHTML = "blah blah".

Can Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other search bots index the pages correctly?

No.

I don't know what Jason is.

But javascript is something all search engines ignore, and for good reason. So anything where you set the innerHTML property, is invisible to search.

They should be able to index some of the content, but the JavaScript can trip them up so you'll probably find some things indexed and other things not.

But the search engines probably won't be able to crawl and index everything.

Go to Google and type "dreamweaver serial." A lot of the results, they don't actually link to any more - GOOD FOR THEM! - and there's a message warning you about "badware." A lot of web sites have javascript that messes up your computer as soon as you go to the web site.

Obviously, Google doesn't want to infect their network by running javascript. A few bad apples ruined our bunch. So I really doubt any content you have in script will be visible in any way to the search bots.

Well, I think Google may come up some kinda way to index JS since AJAX is on its way to world domination in social media stuff. But, as you've said, one bad apple can ruin the bunch.

No they can't. Anything that requires javascript to execute will not be seen by bots.

It's very simple to find out if it can be seen (or not)

Right click, select view source, what you see is what a bot sees.
